JACK Wills, “the university outfitter”, has now opened in Canterbury offering a new style of clothing for the thousands of students living in the city. The new store has a prime location on the main high street but sits understated to one side, being noticed only by those familiar with the brand.
The long-awaited opening created quite a buzz in the city and hoards of eager students flocked to the scene in order to get a first glimpse inside. As usual, the clothes are desirable as the manikins don the best Wills cloth and the price tags are likely to make your eyes water. Yet it still proves to be one of the most popular, most worn brands in the city.

Following suit of the equally popular Superdry, Wills aims at the younger market which means Canterbury is the perfect place to open a new store as about 60% of the population is students. However, not everyone has the disposable income to be able to shop here regularly. Other places to shop in the city include the common high-street chains, like Topshop/Topman, River Island and H & M.
Some people believe there should be cheaper alternative shops as well to appeal more to the typical student. Popular cheap clothing retailer, Primark, does not have a store in Canterbury and many students say there should be one for those who prefer to spend less money on clothes.

Jack Wills has become increasingly popular over recent years and the new store has been quite busy since opening. Overall, this should prove that it’s hugely successful.
